Description

Doing what I do I am constantly tempted to divert incoming guitars intended for our inventory to my personal use. In the case of this particular guitar, that temptation is absolutely overwhelming. Offered is this incredible Santa Cruz OM which I obtained from the original owner and which was built to his specifications by Richard Hoover himself in 2008. This OM has received the following upgrades: aged, presentation-grade Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides; mastergrade Adirondack Spruce for the top; a 3 5/8" body depth (versus the standard 3.25"); a venetian cutaway; and 2.25" string spacing. I immediately noticed that when strummed, this guitar has acoustic output which exceeds that of many of the dreadnoughts that come through my shop - this thing can rumble! At the same time, it retains the crisp note definition, sweet overtones and playing comfort that you expect from an ultra-premium OM-sized guitar. Even with heavy gauge (for me) strings installed, this guitar plays as easy as most Taylors. This guitar can do it all. And talk about beautiful - I don't think I've seen a more stunning set of Brazilian and the Adirondack top has fabulous grain and color. I'm gushing with superlatives because that is how good this guitar is and neither my pictures or my sound sample do it justice. This guitar has been treated like the treasure that it is and is in near mint condition with virtually nothing in the way of flaws for me to make note of, frets included. It comes with it's original archtop case in similarly nice condition. To duplicate this amazing instrument today would likely cost you in excess of $16K and you still might not end up with as fine an overall instrument. You can have this near mint example for thousands less, unless I succumb to the temptation and pull this listing. Simply amazing.....
