1985 Squier Stratocaster Custom Silver Sparkle

Summary: This Stratocaster is not only an eye catcher, but it’s an incredible player as well. Japanese Squires are highly regarded for their excellent quality, so in order to keep up with their Japanese competition Fender moved production to Japan in the early ‘80s. The neck of this body is made by Squire Japan, but the body is made by Allparts and features a custom “Marty Bell” silver sparkle paintjob and superb sounding Fender Custom Shop pickups!

Body: It has an Allparts Stratocaster body with a Marty Bell custom silver sparkle paintjob and a gold 3-ply pearloid pickguard.

Neck: The Fender Squire Japan neck dates to 1985, it is one piece maple with a skunk stripe, black dots, 22 frets, 1 5/8” nut width, 25.5” scale length, closed back Fender Japan tuners and a nice C profile with a smooth rounded over fretboard edge.

Pickups/Hardware: The pickups in this guitar are high end Fender Custom Shop pickups, it has a 5 way switch, 1 volume, 2 tones, 3 ply gold pearloid pickguard, gold Gibson knob and vibrato unit with 6 Fender vintage style bent steel saddles.

Cosmetics: This guitar has a bit of wear on the neck around the edges and a bit on the fretboard but the frets themselves are in great shape and do not have much wear to them. The body only has one minor ding/scratch on the back and a small finish crack in the neck pocket but is otherwise relatively blemish free and looks spectacular.

Playability: If the looks and sound aren’t enough, this guitar is a wonderful player. The neck feels amazing, the frets are smooth, the neck is straight and our luthier has just strung this guitar up with a new set of 10s and set it up with low action.
