Suhr guitars never came my way over the nearly 30 years I've been in this business. Recently, however, several mint ones have passed through. This example is from a collection buy. The collection includes many guitars like this that were purchased new, played once or twice, then stashed. The collector had a great eye. Most of the pieces are the highest quality guitars available at the time, and his taste varied widely, so we see the full gamut of great stuff from the time.
This Carve Top Standard is mint. The signs of handling are mostly from our work, verifying originality, checking specs, restringing and setting up the guitar.
The guitar is a pleasure to play with a slim, fast mahogany neck, Brazilian rosewood fretboard and perfect frets.
Numerous tones are available and none of them suck!
The quilt top and peghead face are three-dimensional, having taken the Bengal finish so wonderfully.
