Description

Offered is this fabulous limited edition Suhr Standard, one of just 50 built in 2003-2004. This is one of Suhr's early models, built while John Suhr was much more actively involved in day-to-day guitar production.

This awesome Suhr has: a chambered Alder body with a Honey Burst quilted Maple top and a total weight of just 6.9 pounds; a Maple neck with a Vintage C Standard neck carve and depth measurements of .82" at the 1st fret increasing to .94" at the 12th (by my measurements); a gorgeous, dark Rosewood fretboard with a 10 - 14" compound radius, rolled shoulders, Abalone side dots and inlay at the 12th fret; a 1.650" tusq nut and 6105 stainless steel frets; a Gotoh VG300 trem bridge with drop-in arm; Sperzel locking tuners; and for electronics, two Suhr V60LP single coils and a DSV humbucker in the bridge position with master volume, master tone and five-way switch for controls. One of Suhr's early noise cancelling back plates was added subsequent to the guitar's original production.

These early Suhr guitars are particularly desirable because of their extremely high build quality. This guitar plays effortlessly and sounds like a super-Strat-style guitar should, with lots of quack and clarity. Please check out the brief sound sample provided and the video of one of the guitars in this series being demonstrated. The fret work on this guitar is particularly nice.

This guitar is in excellent condition with just a few hard-to-find flaws including a couple of tiny impressions on the bottom edge where the body would meet your lap and some very light pick haze in the playing area (see photos provided). The stainless steel frets remain flawless. The guitar comes in it's original G&G tolex case (which shows a bit of wear) along with the trem arm, tools and spec sheet.

This is a particularly nice, limited run Suhr electric at a very reasonable price. Click the 'Buy Now' button and make it yours. You will be very glad you did!
