The 1975 Travis Bean TB2000 bass is a real gem! These basses are legendary for their aluminum necks, which gave them insane sustain, rock-solid stability, and a super distinctive, bright tone compared to wooden-neck instruments. The TB2000 specifically was the bass model, introduced around ‘75, designed with: Machined aluminum neck (integrated with the headstock and fingerboard) Wooden body wings (usually koa or sometimes mahogany) Two humbucking pickups with a pretty hot output for the era A straightforward volume and tone control layout (one each per pickup) That combination gave it a fat but cutting sound, ideal for players who wanted their bass to slice through the mix — lots of prog, punk, and post-punk bassists appreciated that. They were heavy as hell because of the aluminum, but practically indestructible. Travis Bean only made about 1,000-1,100 TB2000s before shutting down production in the late '70s, so if you're looking at one or already own one, it's a serious collector’s piece.
