Description

One of the lovelier early banjo ukes with no maker’s name on it that we’ve ever seen, with resonator back that has got some of the most unique soundholes ever. Full maple construction, extremely solidly made. Still has its original calfskin head with a fabulous original pictorial on it, appears to have been silkscreened, of three people in a cool speedy motorboat. Chris Craft if I’m not mistaken, with a cleaving bow wave, while they strum their ukes, or knock back a coupla snorts from hip flasks. Or something. The flapper in the stern does appear to be waving, perhaps to be rescued from the ukulele player. But I digress. The tuners are new, of the Patent type, and work beautifully; the action has just been set up here in our own shop; the tone says Roaring 20s all day long and half the night. If ever you’ve wanted a genuine original banjo-uke, how can you resist this one? Comes with its mostly usable original hard shell case. $699 w/xohsc
