Vox Teardrop Mark VI 1965 - White
1965 Vox Mark VI Model Solid Body Electric Guitar, made in Dartford, Kent, England, white polyester finish, mahogany body; maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, grey hard shell case.
This is an original JMI-made example was actually assembled at the Vox factory in Dartford, Kent. Most of the Vox guitars you see in the USA were made by EKO in Italy. Thomas Organ in California took over US distribution of JMI's products, nearly all the Vox guitars they handled would be of Italian parentage, so an original UK-made instrument is extremely rare here in America. This example features a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard made (and stamped) by UK furniture maker G-Plan, JMI's most consistent supplier, who built the bulk of the better quality components for Vox guitars. The pickguard (or "scratchplate" in UK terms) is a striking chromed metal piece, unlike the plastic used on the EKO version.
This guitar was on the market a few years ago with a Natural headstock with no logo. The porevious owner finished the headstock face with matching white and a VOX logo. The guitar is all original otherwise. Super rare find and it actually plays really well and sounds very cool.
