SN: 3136. Here is a nearly new Waterloo WL-K that pays homage to Gibson’s beloved brand Kel Kroydon. Like the original, the WL-K adopts a L-1 sized body with lightweight construction – tall “knife blade” X-brace and back braces and two scalloped tone bars. The Sitka spruce top is very responsive and alive. The ebony nut adds warmth; the depth of the body enlivens the bass and projection. Mahogany back and sides are bound top and bottom. The mahogany neck has a solid headstock, 12-frets clear, a comfortable C-profile, excellent repro tuners and painted Waterloo logo. This one has the optional hand painted Southwest desert scene, the Austin, TX version of hand painted KKs. The neck, lightweight construction and saddle spacing all add up to a fingerstyle player’s delight.

Purchased just last summer, the owner estimates less than one hour of playing time. It’s virtually new with no dings or scratches or modifications. Original hang tags included. New or used, these Waterloo guitars have become difficult to find for sale anywhere. I’ve wondered how Collings could make guitars of this quality at these prices. Maybe they can’t. Comes with a Waterloo-branded TKL-like hardshell case.

On consignment.
