ca. 1936 Cliff Edwards Tenortrope EXC I've seen a few of these and this is the nicest by far with the fanciest woods etc. It has been in my personal collection for years. Also many of theses tenortropes just have the Dobro decal on the head stock but this one has the actual Cliff Edwards (also known as Ukelele Ike) logo. Original in every respect from the 5 ply bound body to the Grover tuning pegs to the engraved tailpiece. The bound back has beautifully bookmatched wood that looks like walnut to me. The heart on the heel cap is charming. The tone is exquisite - my kids in the other room thought it was electric! It plays easily and smoothly. Original hard shell case still works.
