This is a wonderful example of Fender’s last & best period for these early production Jazz Basses, its Sunburst finish is loaded w/patina having a good amount of arm & buckle wear to some great weather checking, its unbound clay dot Rosewood Veneer neck has a neck date of April 1963 as well as the earliest type of Fender Jazz Bass Logo w/its “contour body” portion still a part of its 1 piece 1960 type logo, its tortoise’gard is the perfect piece of pepperoni colored perfection, its original frets are still fine & she’s 1 of the very best playing Jazzes we’ve ever owned, its pickups are hot & funky, its pot codes date to the 40th week of 1963, she still sports her original outside the cavity ground wire as all early Jazz Basses had that ended just after this one, its original bridge & L-series back plate are clean, down to the original pickup & bridge covers, every single screw is original & we were the 1st to remove her neck & we almost didn’t !, this is an untouched 100% original example directly from its 2nd owner from new down in Brazil, its been played in & very much cared for, imagine the music this has made, its excellent overall & maybe the best player we have ever had, she includes her original ultra clean Black tolex hard case.
