'55 Tweed Twin. VG+ ( 8.0 ) When I got the amp in the 70's it had Altecs dated '71. The original P12Qs will blow if you use a Les Paul and play on 10. The Altecs won't blow and it sounded great. I started using Hiwatts in the 80's and the amp went in the guitar closet. Several years ago I got a pair of '50s Jenson P12Qs, 220452, out of a Hammond organ and had them reconed to original specs by Orange County Speakers. We put the Jensons in the amp and replaced the paper caps only ( new power cord of course ) and yesterday was the first time the amp was fired up in 30 years. WOW! Since words can not describe how good this amp sounds I guess you'll have to come by the studio and crank it up. I've posted the before pictures and the pictures after we did the work. If I'd priced it @ 20K maybe no one would buy it, that is until they plugged it in. Comes with the original caps, the Altecs and a repro Victoria Luggage cover. "GREAT AMP"
Personal checks are fine. Out of state checks clear in a day or two now. Wire transfers work. Sorry, no credit cards.
UPS mainly. In 45 years I've had one claim and they paid it. I don't like Fed Ex but I'll use them if you want. Don't expect them to pay a claim on a vintage guitar. Proper packing prevents problems. You got to double box expensive guitars and amps.
I don't buy anything I wouldn't want for myself. It's very rare I'll buy something that's not 100% original, but if it has changed tuner buttons or been refretted, I'll tell you. Detailed, accurate descriptions only. I go to a lot of trouble to pack this stuff right for shipping so it will arrive undamaged. 24 hour approval on guitars. I sell only really nice amps, fully serviced, no return on amps.
