Gibson's only standard issue electric tenor guitar, the ETG-150 was introduced in 1937 and remained in production until 1971. With its fat P-90 pickup and fast 23" scale, the ETG-150 offered a full depth 16" body, bound fingerboard, and specially adapted P-90 pickup, tailpiece and bridge. The laminated body offers superior feedback resistance, and the guitar produces a respectable acoustic tone for playing unplugged.
This rare instrument is in superb 100% original condition, without pick, buckle or thumbwear, and is one of just 44 examples produced in its model year. Some typical checking confirms its sunburst finish is all original as well. The original P-90 single coil pickup produces a clean, open tone, and the action is smooth and low over fine original frets. As these guitars were originally shipped in flimsy softshell cases, the owner has provided a sturdy hardshell case for its protection.
A solid player for trad jazz, swing, Celtic or world beat repertoires, the ETG-150 is a rare bird in a class by itself. One only: call now.
