1964 Gibson L-5 CES and 1964 Gibson GA-77 RVT. An incredible set purchased together by the original owner! The L-5 is considered by many to be the king of Gibson archtops. This beautifully crafted L-5 shows off Gibson’s elegance and high level of quality. This guitar shows some areas of finish wear, but is in overall great shape. Added old school eyelet hook at the base of the neck for a strap that is easily removed if desired. The lovely bound neck has been re-fretted with jumbo frets making this one incredibly easy to play with a more modern feel. The carved Spruce combined with the humbuckers provide a very fat, smooth, woody and rich tone with an incredibly complex sound. The matching amp also shows light wear, but is in solid shape. Fitted with a 15" JBL D130F for a big, full-frequency tone. Warm cleans, a nice bit of tube breakup when pushed and a lovely onboard tremolo and spring reverb. A fantastic duo for both the player and collector! Includes non-original vintage 50’s hardshell case.
