1965 Fender Precision Bass. This instrument is all original, other than a professional Nitro Lacquer body refin. The neck finish, decal, frets, etc. are all original.
As an early '65, this bass still features the clay dots, and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, as well as the early style nitrate guard, and "no logo" case. So for practical purposes, this bass can pass as a '64.
Overall the bass is very clean with little fret wear, and little wear on the original neck finish. Decal and all parts are clean and in good condition.
The serial number is L63XXX. The bass weighs 8.9 lbs. The original grey bottom pickup set measures 10.9K Ohms. The medium neck measures .786" at 1st fret and .961" at 12th fret. The nut is 1.75". The pots code from late '64, 304 6450, while the neck is dated FEB 65.
This bass plays and sounds great, and is a very clean instrument, made much more affordable due to the refinished body. Certainly one of the nicest refin Pre CBS basses being offered at this time.
The bass ships in its original black Tolex, Fender "no logo" case. A minor repair has been made on one of the outer latches.
