We are happy to offer a very rare 1958 Gibson Explorer with OHSC that has been with the same Family for the past 28 years.
The Guitar features a one piece Korina (Limba) Body weighing in at around 7 lbs. The Body features the original paint. There is some weather checking throughout the guitar. Noticeable Buckle-wear on the backside of the Guitar as well as a deeper scratch/ding, on the back of the neck and one on the edge of the upper Body.
The Neck is made out of one piece Korina as well. The Headstock is 3 pieces of Korina.
Tuners are the original Klusen Gold Tuners.

Modifications:
- The 500 K pot for the Bridge Pick - Up is a 1965 CTS pot.
- The wiring to the Pick-Up-Selector switch was replaced with NOS Gibson Wire.
- The Neck Pick-Up wire was extended with NOS Gibson Wire.
- 3rd Strap Buttons added on the back of the Guitar

One latch on the Case does not work and is missing the latching piece.
Everything else is original to the Guitar including the frets. No Overspray, routing or breaks anywhere. Comes with the original Case as well as some of the original documentation.

Cover was off at some point but is back on.
Original Tape around windings.

Pick Up Rings:
Both have M69 Stamps on the inside.
