2008 Custom Shop Masterbuilt ’59 Heavy Relic Stratocaster by Jason Smith
The 1959 Stratocaster Heavy Relic model was built by masterbuilder Jason Smith.
The sunburst finish faithfully reproduces the aging of the reddish paint that tends to fade easily from 1959-61, the bold paint peeling from the heavy relic finish, weather checks and dings all over the body and buckle marks, rust and dullness on metal parts, discoloration on the pickguard, etc., the guitar is finished with an outstanding look that gives it the presence of a vintage guitar.
The neck is a thin C shape with vintage type thins frets on the 7.25R fingerboard.
The pickups are hand-wound pickups signed by Abigail Ybarra, and there are three pickup selectors.
There is a little play-wear, with a tiny dent on the first fret of the fretboard and some threads on the body paint near the front pickup caused by picking.
The frets have slightly decreased in the low position, but they left about 70% overall, and the neck and rod are in good condition.
